'Dune' Director Proves Long-Term Panic Is Wrong

Eyebrows were raised at the Dune The franchise's run time, but Denis Villeneuve proved the skeptics wrong with his Dune: Part Two, which ran 166 minutes and successfully grossed over $700 million at the global box office.

During an interview with The Sunday Times, the Canadian filmmaker said: “This was the only way to be successful. Also think about 'Oppenheimer'. It's a three-hour R-rated movie about nuclear physics that's mostly talky, but the audience was young; that was by far , the movie of the year for my children.

Previously, Denis spoke about the possibilities of the third installment of the fantasy franchise.

“It's also about making sure I have the right script. I currently have four projects on the table. One of them is a secret project that I can't talk about right now, but it needs to see the light of day as soon as possible,” said the man from 56 years to The Hollywood Reporter.

He continued: “So it would be a good idea to do something between projects, before tackling Dune Messiah and Cleopatra. All of these projects are still being written, so we'll see where they go, but I have no control over that.”
