Drew Barrymore wants to end the shame of what comes after the failure of the marriage

Three-time divorced Drew Barrymore dismisses the shame that comes with divorce and is prevalent in society.

On her daytime talk show, the actress talked about taking control of the narrative that brings women down after a breakup.

“I felt a lot of shame about the divorce and for some reason something happened and I was like, 'I'm not willing to feel that way anymore,'” she shared.

The 49-year-old continued: “And it just went away from me. And I thought: when you get divorced, you are saving the precious asset that we have on this planet, which is just our time.”

The mother of two continued, “When you really find yourself in a situation that's not working out in the optimal way that you expect and want, we accept it and improve our quality of life by moving forward.”

“And now, for me, divorce does not embarrass me. “I'm like totally liberated.”

Drew had three partners, whom she had married, including Jeremy Thomas, Tom Green and Will Kopelman.
