Drake posts video of flooded mansion during Toronto storm

Maybe it's time for Drake to move on? The 37-year-old rapper was one of millions of Canadians affected Tuesday by a summer storm front that slammed into the Greater Toronto Area, causing widespread flooding and power outages in the country's largest and most populous city.

The “God's Plan” and “Hotline Bling” host posted a video of murky water invading a room in his posh Bridle Path mansion, joking: “This should be an Espresso Martini.”

The clip, posted Tuesday to the Grammy winner's Instagram Story, also showed a person holding a door closed as water poured into the room and Drake stepping in several inches of water as he splashed toward another door.

Representatives for the musician did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment Wednesday.

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority said Wednesday that more than 3.9 inches of rain was reported to have fallen in some areas during the height of Tuesday’s historic storm, according to the Toronto Sun. The authority said some rivers within the Greater Toronto Area still have higher water flows due to Tuesday’s heavy rains, which led to dangerous conditions, including slippery and unstable riverbanks.

The rains flooded and closed part of the Don Valley Parkway, which runs from the city's north side to downtown, several other roads and Toronto's Union Station, the Associated Press reported. Lakeshore Boulevard, which runs along Lake Ontario, was also flooded and closed, police said, and Toronto Fire Services said it rescued 14 people from floodwaters on the road.

More rain fell in a four-hour period in Canada's largest city on Tuesday than Toronto gets on average for the month of July, CNN reported.

In May, Drake’s historic mansion, also known as “The Embassy,” was the scene of a shooting and two separate incidents of alleged trespassing, resulting in a police intervention there for three days straight. The incidents occurred amid the “Degrassi” alum’s highly public feud with rapper Kendrick Lamar, with whom he had been trading insults and offensive songs for weeks.
