Did Prince William conspire to keep Meghan Markle away from Diana's finery?

Prince William has reportedly made special arrangements to keep Meghan Markle away from Princess Diana's trappings.

The Prince of Wales, who guarded his mother's jewels at Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry in 2018, spoke to Queen Elizabeth II and limited the bride's ability to wear them:

Royal author Robert Jobson in his new book titled 'Catherine: Princess of Wales' noted:

“By the time William was confirmed as best man, the relationship had deteriorated. I am told that, still worried about the marriage, he had sought assurances from the Queen that Harry's fiancée would not wear any of Princess Diana's jewellery, even though his own wife was allowed to wear it.”

The author added: “Despite criticism and sensitivities on both sides, the Windsor wedding in May 2018 was a spectacular success. In public, the Royal Family were all smiles, although in private they were locked in a fierce fight.”

Meghan married Prince Harry in 2018 at St George's Chapel, surrounded by friends and family.
