Sean Diddy Combs is being held in Brooklyn pending trial for kidnapping and abusing women over a decade.
The 54-year-old music mogul was arrested Monday at a hotel on drug charges.
Now, as the rapper remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center — which has a history of housing high-profile inmates including R. Kelly, Fetty Wap and Ghislaine Maxwell — Combs’ legal team is attempting to obtain house arrest or relocation to another jail.
During a court hearing, Combs' attorney asked a judge to have the music mogul transferred to a prison in Essex County, New Jersey, when Combs was denied the option to await trial at his Florida mansion.
Meanwhile, much has been said about the Metropolitan Detention Center, which houses 1,600 inmates.
A law enforcement official said CNN that Combs is being held alone in a special housing unit inside the Brooklyn jail, to which the detention center warden gave a broader view.
“If it is true, as reported, that he is housed in the special housing unit, it is important to note that the unit is a 24-hour confinement unit,” Cameron Lindsay said. NewsNation.
“The vast majority of the floors are general population, but the special housing unit is a 24-hour confinement facility,” he said, explaining that Combs will likely be in his cell 23 hours a day.
“I certainly expected him to have fun on his own – three showers a week, three hot baths and a gurney, as they say. But he will be in that cell with no social or legal visits,” he said.
According to In touchBreakfast options are limited to fruit, cereal, breakfast pastries and skim milk, with coffee available for those who need a caffeine fix.

Dinner at the detention center offers a selection including macaroni and chili, Salisbury steak or chicken fried rice, while on weekends a pizza with cheese and spinach is permitted. Inmates have the option to purchase several items from the detention center commissary.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, items available for purchase include a block of Velveeta cheese, jalapeno cheese, bags of albacore tuna and a bag of Spam. Condiments and spices can be purchased for an additional cost.
Inmates can also purchase precooked rice, instant grits or even a rib eye steak for $9.95. Snack options include granola bars, cookies, unsalted peanuts and sugar-free candy. Beverages can also be purchased for $3.55, including decaffeinated coffee and herbal tea.
In the indictment against Combs, the music mogul is accused of forcing victims to perform “freak offs,” which prosecutors describe as “elaborately produced sexual performances.”
