COAS General Asim Munir pays rich tribute to the “noble” sacrifices of the martyrs

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Monday paid rich tributes to the martyrs and their families for their sacrifices for the country and their acts of bravery, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

“There is nothing nobler than giving one's life. [in] The defense of the motherland and the sacrifices of our martyrs strengthen our resolve to fight with utmost dedication and spirit of sacrifice,” the army chief said at the investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The army chief awarded military awards to army personnel for their acts of bravery during operations and meritorious services rendered to the nation at the ceremony, the army's media wing reported.

The ISPR said a large number of senior army officers and family members of the awardees attended the ceremony.

“The officers and soldiers were awarded medals including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-I-Basalat (Good Conduct Medal),” the ISPR said.

The medals awarded to the martyrs were received by their families.

On the occasion, General Munir also praised the brave families of the martyrs for their good humor and sacrifices made.

“He Shuhada (martyrs) and ghazis “They are our national heroes and the nation owes its independence and security to the sacrifices of its brave warriors,” he said.

“Our Shuhada They are, in fact, beacons of hope and resilience for the nation,” the army chief added.
