Brooke Shields admits she took her daughter by surprise with her new documentary.
The actress, who spoke about her life on Pretty Baby, says she upset her daughter because she felt ambushed.
Brooke says her daughters Grier, 18, and Rowan, 20, are with husband Chris Henchy.
In an interview with Jennie Garth on the 'Choose Me' podcast, the actress said: “I was the conduit to a bigger conversation. And that, to me, is the greatest gift of all,” she shares proudly.
Garth then asks, “Did your daughters see why you did it?”
“One did, the other didn't,” Shields admits, noting that her youngest daughter, Grier, “will always be mad at me.”
She says the 18-year-old felt “ambushed with the information.”
Brooke admits: “It was a bad mothering thing on my part.”
“I didn't set her up and she doesn't like being surprised. She felt a little intimidated,” the mother of two continues.
“I just assumed everything would be fine. I thought, 'She knows her mom. Her mom is healthy and she doesn't have any problems. ' I thought she could look at us now and think, 'Wow, they've come a long way,' and 'Isn't that great?'” Brooke says.
