Billie Eilish reveals risky details behind Hit Me Hard and Soft album cover

While appearing in The last show with Stephen ColbertThe 22-year-old actress told the host that she spent six hours underwater with a weight strapped to her body to capture the image.

“That is very real. This was the day after the last Grammys. I had gone to bed at 7 in the morning, woke up, dyed my hair black… and then went to this random place in Santa Clarita. There's a tank in this giant place and it was like 10 feet deep, and I stuck my little butt in there. And I was there for six hours,” Billie said.

She then added that she was “fully dressed” the entire time, wearing “big long pants, giant Pro Club shorts, a long-sleeved thermal shirt, a button-down flannel, a tie, rings, arm warmers and a dumbbell.”

“I had a weight tied to me. I didn't have a plug in my nose, so I basically went underwater for six hours,” Billie shared, adding that she was the mastermind behind the vision and admitted that she “almost died” during the photo shoots “many times.” .

“I need to suffer. Sincere with God, yes. It's not like, 'What can I do that's the most uncomfortable thing I can imagine?' It's more about thinking about the visual before thinking about how it will make me feel,” she explained.
