Ben Affleck reveals how he reacted to knowing that Jennifer Lopez has shared her love letters with musicians
Ben Affleck was left “bewildered” after learning that Jennifer Lopez had shared her private love letters with musicians knowing how protective he is of their privacy.
He Air director and actress talked about how JLo shared her love letters with musicians and composers to create her album It's me… now in López's new document The greatest love story ever told.
Affleck said he was “baffled” when he learned she had shown the letters to other people. “I was like, 'Have you been showing all the musicians all these cards?'” he recalled.
“And they were like, 'Yeah, we call you Pen Affleck.' And I was like, 'Oh my God,'” Affleck added.
However, he “adapted” to his wife's wishes. “Jen was really inspired by this experience, which is the way artists do her work,” she explained.
Affleck continued. “They draw inspiration from his personal life, that moves you. I know that, as a writer and director, I certainly do the same things.”
“I always felt that private things are sacred and special because, in part, they are private. So this was kind of an adjustment for me.”
Elsewhere, Lopez revealed that Affleck had kept all of their written exchanges over the years, including during his marriage to ex Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018.
“This book is a book that Ben gave me on our first Christmas together. It's every letter and every email we wrote to each other 20 years ago and today,” he revealed.
