Becky G announces new tour Casa Gomez: Another Chapter

Nearly a year after wrapping up her first headlining tour, Becky G is ready to hit the road again with the Casa Gomez: Otro Capitan Tour.

On Tuesday, the Mexican-American singer posted a video on Instagram from a previous show in which she appears on stage with her signature microphone in hand. Her caption reads: “I can’t wait to sing, laugh, dance and cry with you guys again very soon… it was so hard to keep this a secret.”

The Casa Gomez: Otro Capitan tour is a 14-show U.S. tour that kicks off Oct. 11 at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom and wraps up Nov. 17 at San Diego's Gallagher Square at Petco Park. The five-time Latin Grammy-nominated artist will stop in predominantly Mexican-American communities and perform in Atlanta, Phoenix and five cities in Texas, according to the tour's official release.

There is currently no Los Angeles date. The closest performance to Los Angeles County will be at Ontario's Toyota Arena on November 16. Her previous tour, Mi Casa Su Casa, sold out three dates at the Novo.

“Everyone’s family is there. [at a Becky G show]”I feel like she's my friend, my sister. I love that about her,” fan Chris Peralta told The Times last October.

The upcoming tour continues to promote the 27-year-old’s album “Esquinas.” The 2023 release is her first foray into Mexican music, a genre she grew up listening to. Featuring guest appearances from subgenre contributors like Ivan Cornejo, Peso Pluma, and Dannylux, Gomez pays homage to her family’s roots.

The Inglewood-born artist first entered the industry at age 14. Initially, she focused on releasing mainstream English-language pop, with hits like “Shower” and “Becky From the Block.” But over the years, the singer has solidified her place in the Latin music market. Her biggest song, “Mamiii,” featuring Karol G, has Almost a billion streams on Spotify alone.

“Spanish music gave me the impetus to find my own voice as a young woman in this industry,” she said. The Times in 2022“I think someone in the field of psychology should investigate the impact this has on us children who are 200 percent in one culture and trying to assimilate to both.”

Tickets for Casa Gomez: Otro Capitan go on sale later this week, with an artist presale on Wednesday and a general sale on Friday.
