Austin Butler Reveals Condition of 'Dune' Set: 'It Was a Microwave!'

Austin Butler revealed the difficult circumstances in which he had to carry out his Dune role.

The 32-year-old actor talked about what it was like working for Denis Villeneuve's sci-fi production whose sets were 110 degrees hot.

Austin, who plays Baron Vladimir Harkonnen's ruthless nephew, Feyd-Rautha, in Dune: Part 2said Entertainment Weekly, “It was 110 degrees and very hot. “She had the bald cap on and she was between two sound stages that were just these gray boxes of 200-foot walls and sand.”

And he added: “It became like a microwave. There were people who fainted from heat stroke. And that was just my first week.”

However, the Oscar nominee saw the demanding situation as a “bonding experience.”

“It really brings the whole team together. There is something very humiliating about being in such an uncomfortable environment,” she added.

Denis also breathed a sigh of relief for not filming both. Dune consecutive movies.

“Both films were made in very harsh conditions and it is very physically exhausting, so having a break between them was a blessing. My first thought was to film both films together, but now I think I would have died,” he explained.
