- PTI information secretary's lawyer files post-arrest bail
- Court issues notices for August 6 on post-arrest bail plea.
- The judge asks whether details of Hasan's call data have been obtained.
ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the federal capital on Saturday sent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan to judicial remand for 14 days in a terror-related case.
The PTI information secretary was arrested on July 31 following a statement by PTI international media coordinator Ahmed Janjua who alleged that the former had given money to the latter to incite terrorism.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra dismissed the petition seeking physical remand of Hasan for seven days.
PTI leader Ali Bukhari's lawyer appeared and presented his arguments before the court. He also sought post-arrest bail for his client. On this issue, the court issued notices for August 6.
Bukhari said he wanted to inform the court about the decision of the previous hearing that details of Hasan's bank accounts could also be viewed online.
The judge said he should have challenged the decision in the High Court and not in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. He also asked whether details of the PTI leader's calls, bank transfers or meetings had been obtained.
Hasan is also currently being nominated in a case related to anti-state propaganda, but has been granted bail. However, as he is on remand in custody in the terrorism case, he will remain behind bars.
