Adele addresses viral meme about her on the Internet

Adele is adding context to a meme that went viral when she was at the NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2022.

At that moment, the camera zoomed in on the Grammy winner sitting courtside as she completely ignored the lens.

Surprisingly, the moment went viral and has become a meme. Years later, the Hello The singer addressed the issue in her recent Weekends with Adèle Concert in Las Vegas.

“Remember that viral meme where I looked like I didn't give a damn? I'd like to give that meme some context,” he began.

The hitmaker continued, “I know it sounds crazy, but I don't really like being famous, right? So obviously I know I'm sitting courtside at a basketball game, whatever.”

Pointing out: “But Rich [Paul] I was working in the room and, you know, talking to other players and people. It was good. I did not care. To be honest, I was there alone, looking for Michael Jordan.”

But he added: “So the people with the camera came up and asked me twice. They said, 'Do you mind if we film you? Can we put you on the screen?'

“I said, 'Please don't do it. I just canceled [my] Las Vegas [residency]. I really don't want to be [on camera]. “They came back and filmed me.”

The 35-year-old stated: “So the reason my lips look like they have filler is because I naturally have big lips. I don't need filler. The reason I looked like a different person was because I was in a bad mood.”

“Because I thought, 'These bastards are filming me against my will.'” Acknowledging her amazement, Adele shared that she had no idea what the images would convey.

“I didn't realize they were showing it on TV. I thought I was just in the room, you know. But anyway, I just wanted to give some context because I was ignoring looking anywhere but at the camera.”

“I got really angry because I asked not to be filmed. Plus, my face is very memeable. I can't help it.”
