ISLAMABAD: Differences have emerged between lawyers and political leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as the latter wants to hold talks with other parties for a political settlement, while the former wants the opposite. Geographic news reported on Saturday citing sources.

Decisions on the current political situation and formation of governments at the center and provinces have also been delayed for the same reason, sources added.

Sources said the party's lawyers had expressed reservations about establishing contacts with other political parties, including the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), which was evident from the absence of PTI president Barrister Gohar Khan, in the meeting with Maulana Fazlur. Rehman.

The leadership of the legal team, including Gohar, was also not present at the party's meeting with the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) party and Qaumi Watan, they said, adding that hot words were also exchanged during a party meeting in Islamabad.

The lawyers have now limited themselves to the party's legal matters and cases after they refused to comply with the decisions of the political leadership, they maintained. They said PTI founder Imran Khan had left full responsibility for political decisions in the hands of political leaders. Whereas the lawyers had expressed reservations over the decisions of the political leaders and the meeting with Imran Khan, sources said.

On the other hand, PTI leader Asad Qaiser has claimed that all legal members of PTI were united with the political leadership. “Lawyers are obliged to follow the decisions of the leadership and the party. The councils move forward in unity,” he stated.
