Recently, in a peculiar case that reached a family court, a newly married woman filed for divorce from her husband after he turned a promised romantic honeymoon in Goa into a religious yatra to Ayodhya.

The case involving the newlywed couple, who were married just five months ago, was reported in family court 10 days after the couple returned from their trip, the free press newspaper reported.

The Piplani couple from Bhopal tied the knot in August 2023.

The woman revealed that she, along with her husband who works in the information technology (IT) sector, earn well. Therefore, it was no big deal for them to go abroad for their honeymoon.

According to the woman's statements, her husband rejected her honeymoon proposal abroad, saying that he had to take care of his parents and suggested that they visit a place within India.

She agreed and decided to take a trip to Goa and South India.

Later, her husband booked flight tickets to Ayodhya and Varanasi due to his mother's wish to visit the city before the consecration of Ram Mandir.

He informed his wife a day before embarking on the trip and she left without making a fuss.

However, the woman filed for divorce on Friday last week after returning from a 10-day trip, adding the claim that her husband took more care of her family members than she did.

The husband, however, claimed that his wife was making a fuss over the issue.

The couple is currently taking advice from a lawyer at the Bhopal family court.
