Kenya rocked by mass demonstrations against proposed tax increases.
It all started with peaceful protests against a finance bill introduced in Kenya's parliament.
The proposed legislation included tax increases to raise additional funds the government says it needs to pay down public debt.
Protests intensified, crowds stormed the parliament grounds and the army was deployed.
Security forces used live bullets, killing and injuring many people.
President William Ruto, initially defiant, called the demonstrations betrayal and vowed to take a firm stance against what he called anarchy. But on Wednesday he announced that he would withdraw the bill.
So will the riots be contained?
