Why Stormy Daniels' Courtroom Sketch Filled the Internet with Disgust

All ears were on the Manhattan courthouse in New York City on Tuesday, where a famous adult film icon, Stormy Daniels, testified in a criminal trial against former US President Donald Trump.

Since cameras are not allowed there, artists draw the scenes inside the courthouse for the world to see later. This time too, the cartoonists did what they did, but the overly caricatured drawing of Stormy Daniels, the star witness, filled the Internet with disgust.

The 77-year-old White House bidder was charged last year in March with falsifying business records to pay the amount. He had pleaded not guilty to all 34 felonies.

The internet was filled with sketches of Daniel's artists' testimony online, with people claiming he looked older than his age while others mocked his appearance.

Using the real name Stephanie Clifford, Daniels, 45, allegedly received $130,000 from Donald Trump in 2016 to silence her over the extramarital exchange with the Republican in 2006.

During her testimony, she detailed how she met Trump and what happened between them.

Daniels met Trump in July 2006 at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, according to testimony, where the Republican invited her to dinner in his hotel suite.

Daniels said Trump asked her if she would like to appear on his television show “Celebrity Apprentice.”

“He told me, 'Wow, you're special. You remind me of my daughter.' You know, he told me, 'You're smart and beautiful and a woman to be reckoned with, and I like you,'” Daniels said.
