The World Health Organization announced that it will begin distributing polio vaccine to children in Gaza on September 1. The move is intended to vaccinate 640,000 children under the age of ten. The urgent campaign comes after a ten-month-old child was confirmed to have contracted the first reported case in Gaza in 25 years.
