The Great Omari Mosque is one of the most important monuments in Gaza City, with origins dating back more than 2,000 years. It was destroyed in an Israeli attack in December 2023. Hatem Haniya, the mosque's administrator, reflects on its history and its deep meaning for the people of Gaza.
