Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, now has two hashtags for Donald Trump following Elon Musk's endorsement of the former president following his survival of an assassination attempt at a rally on Saturday.

The hashtags #MAGA and #Trump2024 are used, appearing with small photos of the Republican candidate raising his fist in the air and the American flag. #MAGA is the No. 1 trending hashtag on the platform as of Thursday evening.

Additionally, if you type #MAGA into the search box, American flags will appear at the top of the search page.

However, the hashtag used by the Democratic candidate, #Biden2024, does not possess such branding characteristics.

These hashtags, also called 'hashmojis' by X, have had a lot of impact and were used by advertisers to promote events, products and brands, and usually last 24 hours once enabled.

Meanwhile, Forbes The question of whether the Trump-themed hashtags were purchased by his campaign or were added without his intervention remains to be confirmed.

Additionally, the cost of using these hashmojis in the app is not listed on X's branded features page.

On Saturday, following the failed assassination attempt on the 45th president, Musk posted on X: “I fully support President Trump.” The billionaire has also donated to a pro-Trump super PAC known as America PAC to support the candidate in the upcoming election.
