Former US President Donald Trump has confirmed that Elon Musk never told him he would pledge $45 million a month to support his presidential campaign, days after the Tesla CEO denied it. Wall Street Journals reports that it would do so.
“I have a good relationship with him, I think he's a good guy,” Trump said of Musk during an interview on Fox News.
“Someone told me that he was going to give me 45 million [dollars] “A month. I said, 'That seems like a lot, even for Elon, it's a lot,'” the former president said.
The Republican presidential candidate added that Musk never told him that he had pledged $45 million a month to his campaign.
“But he said 'I strongly support it,' despite the fact that I'm against the electric car mandate,” he added.
Musk's endorsement of Trump came after the Republican survived an assassination attempt at an election campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
He WSJ newspaperTwo days after the rally incident, it was reported that the SpaceX CEO has plans to donate $45 million to a newly formed pro-Trump super PAC.
However, Musk later denied the claims in an interview with Jordan Peterson, stating that the figure reported by WSJ newspaper “It just wasn't true.”
“I'm not going to give $45 million a month to Trump,” Musk said.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Tuesday, Musk revealed that he is donating to America PAC, but at a lower level.
The next day, Musk attended Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to Congress after being invited by the prime minister to the Capitol and reaffirmed that he was committed to donating $45 million a month to Trump's campaign.

Musk had previously stated on his X account that he would not donate money to any of the presidential campaigns of the candidates. However, this is an open statement and Musk can make indirect contributions to any of the campaigns, as he confirmed he will do now.
