Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign said Wednesday it raised $130 million in August and had $295 million in cash on hand at the end of the month.

This figure is slightly lower than that recorded in July, when the campaign had raised $138.67 million and reported $327 million in cash.

The Trump campaign later revealed details showing that only three percent of donations raised in August were over $200, with the average donation being $56.

Trump campaign senior adviser Brian Hughes said: “With Republicans united and a growing number of disaffected independents and Democrats crossing party lines, the Trump-Vance campaign has momentum heading into the final stretch of the race.”

“These August fundraising numbers are a reflection of that movement and will propel President Trump’s America First movement back into the White House so we can undo the terrible failures of Harris and Biden,” Hughes added.

In recent months, the Trump campaign has received a huge amount of financial support and, for a brief period, outpaced the Biden campaign. However, Biden's exit and the fact that Kamala Harris has emerged as a viable candidate has sent Democrats into a fundraising frenzy.

Harris campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon noted this by pointing out that the vice president has raised more than $540 million since July 21, making it the largest amount any candidate has raised in that time period.

Harris also added Tuesday that her campaign would invest about $24.7 million in Democratic parties in an attempt to help candidates for lower offices and force explicit majorities in Congress.
