Republican candidate Donald Trump called his rival Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election “crazy” on his Instagram account.

“Crazy Kamala cast the deciding vote on the HUGE SPENDING BILLS that caused the INFLATION CRISIS!” he posted.

Republicans believe the vice president has cast her vote in favor of massive spending bills that have caused inflationary crises.

This reaction came after the Democratic candidate made an official statement.

“As the Senate is evenly divided, the Vice President votes affirmatively and the concurrent resolution is adopted, as amended,” he said, casting the deciding vote to pass the American Rescue Plan of 2021.

Earlier in 2021, President Joe Biden was also criticized for passing the American Rescue Plan as it leads to inflation.

In addition, along with this harsh caption, the former president also attached a video that captures the perceptions of different officials regarding Harris' decision.

Some former Obama economists have said that the American Rescue Plan has contributed to the inflation we are seeing today.

“It’s definitely too big for the moment; I don’t know of any economist who would recommend something of the size of what was done,” Jason Furman said.

“The tremendous wall of money just sets off a dynamic, and then what happens with inflation is you start running in circles,” said former U.S. Treasury Secretary Larry Henry Summers.

Biden's Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen responded to a question about whether $2 trillion in deficit spending creates inflation.

“It did boost demand, and that is one of several factors that play into inflation,” Yellen said.

Additionally, there are 15,000 people in Beaufort County who are food insecure and the number of people in need appears to be increasing. Gas prices are higher and rent is also contributing to inflation.

However, Republican Party leaders cannot specify how Harris managed to do so, other than as vice president.

“Vice President Harris owns the record of this administration,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. “Her fingerprints are all over the last four years of failure.”
