The administration of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, has ordered his missions abroad to stop programming new appointments for visas applicants for students' visitors and exchanges while the State Department prepares to expand the investigation of the social networks of foreign students, according to an internal cable seen by Reuters Tuesday.

The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, said in the cable that the department plans to issue an updated orientation on social media research of student visitors and exchange applicants after completing a review and advised the consular sections that stop the programming of said visa appointments.

The measure occurs when the Trump administration has tried to increase deportations and revoke students' visas as part of their wide efforts to fulfill its hard -line immigration agenda.

In the cable, first reported by Politico, Rubio said that the appointments that have already been scheduled can proceed under current guidelines, but the available appointments that are not taken must already be withdrawn.

“The department is reviewing the existing operations and processes for the evaluation and investigation of the investigation of the visa applicants of student and exchange visitors (F, M, J), and based on that review, it plans to issue guidance on the investigation of expanded social media for all applicants,” said the cable.

The state department spokesman Tammy Bruce declined to comment on cable reports, but said that the United States will use “all tools” to examine anyone who wants to enter the United States.

“We will continue to use all the tools we can to evaluate who is here, whether students or not,” Bruce told journalists at a regular news conference.

The expanded verification of the social networks will require that the consular sections modify their operations, processes and allocation of resources, according to the cable, which advises the sections that advance to take into account the workload and the resources requirements of each case before programming them.

The cable also advises the consular sections that remain focused on services for American citizens, immigrant visas and fraud prevention.

The Trump administration officials have said that the headlines of the Student Visa and the Green Cards are subject to deportation about their support for the Palestinians and the criticism of Israel's behavior in the war in Gaza, qualifying their actions a threat to the foreign policy of the United States and accusing them of being pro-hamas.

Trump's critics have called for an attack on the rights of freedom of expression under the first amendment of the Constitution of the United States.

A student at the University of Turkey in Turkey was held for more than six weeks at an immigration detention center in Louisiana after co -writing an opinion article criticizing his school's response to the Israel War in Gaza. She was released from custody after a federal judge granted her bail.

Last week, the Trump administration moved to revoke Harvard's ability to register international students. These approximately 6,800 students represent approximately 27% of Harvard's total registration.

The administration of the Republican President has moved to undermine the financial stability and the global position of the oldest and rich university of the Nation after delayed the demands of the Government of great changes in its policies.
