Kabul: United States has raised an offer of $ 10 million rewards for information that leads to the arrest of an important Taliban leader, Sirajuddin Haqqani, a spokesman for the Afghan Interior Ministry, said Saturday on Saturday.

The United States Department of State did not immediately respond to the request for comments. The FBI still lists the reward on its website, saying that it was believed that Sirajuddin “coordinated and participated in cross -border attacks against the forces of the United States and the coalition in Afghanistan.”

The development occurs immediately after the Taliban releases an American citizen, arrested in Afghanistan for more than two years, on Thursday after the direct conversations between the hostage envoy of the United States, Adam Boehler, and the Taliban officials in Kabul, an informed source about the launch had declared.

The Secretary of State of the United States, Marco Rubio, issued a statement on Thursday confirming the launch of Glezmann.

Thursday's meeting in Kabul marked the highest level direct conversations between the United States and the Taliban since President Donald Trump came to power in January.

Boehler met with the Foreign Minister of the Taliban Administration, Amir Khan Muttaqi, according to a statement from the Ministry of Afghan Foreign Affairs.

“During this meeting, discussions were held on the bilateral relations of Afghanistan-United States, the release of prisoners and the provision of consular services to Afghan in the United States,” said the statement.

The Haqqani network was designated as a terrorist outfit by the United States for allegedly carrying out multiple strikes over foreign and Afghan forces during the 20 -year war in Afghanistan.

The Federal Research Office also wanted Sirajuddin to question, and the US administration offered a $ 10 million reward for information that led to its arrest.

He is the son of the leader of Mujahideen, Jalauddin Haqqani, who fought against the former Soviet Union in the 1980s. Jalauddin then joined the Taliban and served as a minister in his previous government.
