Kabul: A suicide terrorist killed five people, including Taliban security forces on Tuesday in an explosion outside a bank in northern Afghanistan, police said.

Seven people were also injured in the attack that went to a tail of people waiting to collect their salaries from a bank in the city of Kunduz, the capital of the province of Kunduz.

“A suicidal terrorist, who had improvised explosive devices, detonated,” said Jumadin Khakyar, police spokesman for the province of Kunduz.

He said that civilians, public officials and members of the Taliban security forces were among those killed.

“The Kunduz Province Police Command is working with relevant organizations to find the incident perpetrators and bring them to justice.”

In March last year, a suicide terrorist killed at least three people when he detonated a bomb outside a bank in the city of southern Kandahar, in an attack claimed by Daesh's regional chapter.

There was no immediate claim for responsibility for Tuesday's attack.

The number of explosions of suicide bombs and attacks in Afghanistan has decreased markedly since the Taliban ended their insurgency after taking advantage of power in August 2021, expelling the government backed by the United States.

However, several armed groups, including Daesh, are still a threat
