An agreement between Washington and Beijing for the Chinese parent company of the Tiktok videos exchange application to sell its US operations would see the formation of an American majority board, announced the White House.
“There will be seven seats on the board that controls the application in the United States, and six of those seats will be Americans,” said White House Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, Fox News on Saturday.

According to Leavitt, an agreement “in the next few days” could be signed.
Leavitt's comments occur one day after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, conversations in an attempt to end an agreement that will allow Tiktok to continue operating in the United States in the midst of threats of a prohibition.
While Trump described the conversation as a “very good call … I appreciate the approval of Tiktok” on his real social platform, China did not confirm any agreement between the two parties.
It has been reported that Larry Ellison, the multimillion -signed co -founder of the Oracle Technology firm, is part of a group of investors whose companies seek to buy the application.
Leavitt on Saturday seemed to confirm Oracle's participation in the purchase of Tiktok.
“Data and privacy will be led by one of the best technological companies in the United States, Oracle, and the algorithm will also be controlled by the United States,” he told Fox News.
“So all those details have already been agreed. Now we just need to sign this agreement.”
Tiktok has about 175 million users in the United States, which makes it one of the five main social networks applications.
However, the platform has been harassed by controversies when legislators under the Joe Biden administration approved legislation to force the platform to get rid of its property by the Chinese company of the Internet Bytedance.
Both the Democrats and the Republicans supported the legislation due to the security concerns that Beijing could have access to the Tiktok data and could spread the Chinese propaganda through the Tiktok algorithm.
Trump himself proposed to prohibit Tiktok during his first term as president of the United States, signing two executive orders in August 2020 that were aimed at restricting the application. However, the president of the United States made a U -turn, committing to “save” the popular application during his 2024 re -election campaign.
China has constantly denied the statements of US legislators that Beijing presses applications such as Tiktok to collect personal information for the State.
