Estranged independent and Democratic presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr has revealed a shocking experience he faced in his life in 2010 relating to his brain.
The Kennedy family descendant said his brain was eaten by a parasite because he suffered from a brain disorder and memory loss, which raised concerns about his brain tumor at the time.
According to the New York TimesThe situation was revealed during divorce proceedings from his second wife, Mary Richardson Kennedy.
He maintained that his cognitive struggles about the situation had decreased his earning power, the publication reported.
Health care experts also discovered a dark spot in his brain scans, but it was later revealed that there was a dead parasite in his brain.
The 70-year-old said the spot “was caused by a worm that entered his brain, ate part of it and then died.”
The outlet also added in its report that the former Democrat also suffered from mercury poisoning which may be due to excessive consumption of fish.
The mercury condition can cause neurological disorders and memory problems.
Kennedy announced last year that he would run for the Oval Office independently after he failed to gain enough support against President Joe Biden.
“Mr. Kennedy traveled extensively throughout Africa, South America and Asia in his work as an environmental advocate, and in one of those places he contracted a parasite. The problem was resolved more than 10 years ago and he is in solid health physical and mental health,” the campaign said.
“Questioning Mr. Kennedy's health is a hilarious suggestion, given his competence.”
