Donald Trump decides to skip the debate and participate in an interview with Fox News
The race for the White House is on, as the 2024 US elections approach, presidential candidates Ron DeSantis and former United Nations envoy Nikki Haley faced off Wednesday in the fifth Republican Party debate in the state of Iowa.
He hosted on CNN debate, showed Haley and Destantis tearing each other apart, accusing each other of lies, insulting each other over records and characters, while Donald Trump decided to skip and participate in a Fox News the same day, at the same time.
Critics believe this is a calculated move to distance viewers from the events of its rival by using a “counterprogramming” strategy.
The Iowa Caucuses are scheduled to begin on January 15 and will be the opening contest of the US election season. The presidential elections are scheduled for November 5.
