Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni have once again recreated their iconic selfie when the duo, nicknamed “Melodi”, met at the Group of Seven (G7) summit convened in southern Italy.
The Italian Prime Minister also shared a video on her official X account in which Indian Prime Minister Modi could be seen laughing and waving at the camera.
“Hello from the Melodi team,” she is heard saying in the video.
Meanwhile, the Indian Prime Minister also reacted to his Italian counterpart's post on social media and said, “Lunga vita all'amicizia Italy-India! (Long live Italy-India friendship!)”
Meloni had previously taken a selfie with his Indian counterpart during the 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties (COP 28) in December 2023, a picture that went viral on social media.
When the two leaders met again, the Italian Prime Minister recreated the iconic selfie that Internet users had a lot of fun with last time.
“Good friends at COP28,” reads the caption of the image shared by the Italian Prime Minister.
The image, as well as the hashtag “Melodi”, an acronym of both leaders' names that is also a homonym for “melody”, used by Prime Minister Meloni had attracted a lot of attention from social media users.
