The Met Police said that a 41 -year -old man was arrested outside the properties under suspicion of murder and remains in custody, since a mother and her three children were killed in a house fire in Brent, northwest of London.
The emergency services were called around 01:20 on Saturday to the fire in Tillett Close, Stonebridge, where they found the victims: a 43 -year -old woman, a 15 -year -old girl and two children aged eight and four, reported BBC.
Two three -story houses on terraces were destroyed in the fire. The Met Police said that another woman in her 70s and a teenager, both of the same family as the four people who died, were taken to the hospital. Its conditions have not been revealed.
“Devastated to see the fatal fire in the houses of Tillet last night,” said Dawn Butler, Brent East's local deputy, in a publication on social networks.
He added that “prayers are with family and friends affected” by this “very sad tragedy.”
Supt Steve Allen said in a statement on Saturday afternoon that the woman who died had been confirmed as the mother of the three children.
Some 70 firefighters and eight stations fire trucks from Wembley, Park Royal and Willesden were sent to face the fire, which was reported by the neighbors.
'Extremely tragic incident'
A woman, who said that the family had moved to the United Kingdom since Pakistan more than 20 years ago, told the BBC That after listening to Smashing and Screaming, she had come out to find the next building was on fire.
Mohamed Labidi, a 38 -year -old teacher who lives in Tillett Close, said he couldn't even “look at the house right now.”
Talking to him PA news agencyHe said he knew the woman who died and that the family was “really good people.”
“We used to socialize together,” he added.
Another neighbor said he was “stunned by the devastation” of the fire.
Another resident, who did not want to be appointed, said: “It is a very distressing moment for us and the neighborhood.”
In a statement, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said: “A woman and a child were rescued from the second floor from a team property with breathing devices and received immediate emergency care.”
