Mark Zuckerberg praises Donald Trump after the attempt on his life

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg praised former President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump after an assassination attempt was made on him.

Zuckerberg was quoted as calling Trump's raised fist as he was escorted off the stage after a bullet grazed his ear “one of the rudest things I've ever seen in my life.” NBC News.

Meta’s CEO further praised Trump’s response to the shooting at the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, saying, “On some level, as an American, it’s hard not to be moved by that spirit and that fight. And I think that’s why a lot of people like this guy.”

Zuckerberg had previously said, in an interview with BloombergHe said he would not get involved in the elections to be held in November.

Over the years, Zuckerberg has faced backlash from Trump and President Joe Biden, with the former US president stating that he would not ban TikTok in the US because it would benefit the social media platforms owned by the Meta CEO.

Trump has recently threatened Zuckerberg with jail time if he were elected the next president through his own social media platform, called Social Truth.

Zuckerberg was once a Republican, having hosted a fundraiser for then-New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in 2013. That changed in 2020, when the Facebook creator donated $350 million to local election offices, prompting questions and accusations from the GOP that the CEO was helping Biden's campaign.

As for President Biden, he expressed caution about the chief executive during his 2020 presidential campaign, saying that New York Times, “I've never been a big fan of Zuckerberg. I think that's a real problem.”
