London police arrest man after stabbing that left girl and woman injured

LONDON: British police said they have arrested a man after a stabbing in London's Leicester Square that left an 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman injured.

The girl and the woman were taken to a trauma center, according to paramedics.

Police said that while the girl suffered significant injuries, they were not life-threatening and the woman's injuries were minor.

The Metropolitan Police, in a post on X, detailed that there were “no outstanding suspects” in the attack.

Also, a Muslim security guard named Abdullah intervened during a stabbing incident in London's Leicester Square and saved an 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman.

Abdullah works at the TWG tea shop in the square and said he heard screams and then managed to jump on top of the attacker who was attacking the girl and kicked the knife away from him.

Paramedics were called to the scene to reports of a stabbing, according to a London Ambulance Service spokesman.

The spokesperson revealed that resources were immediately dispatched to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced level paramedic and an officer from the incident response unit.

They also indicated that members of the tactical response unit were also deployed to the scene where the stabbing occurred.

“We treated a child and an adult at the scene and took them to a major trauma center,” the paramedics spokesman was quoted as saying. BBC.
