With the US presidential election just around the corner, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris has promised to eliminate taxes in an effort to win the support of service workers.

“My promise to everyone here is that when I'm president, we will continue to fight for working families, including by raising the minimum wage and eliminating tip taxes for service and hospitality workers,” Harris said during a campaign rally in Nevada on Saturday.

Earlier on Friday, the vice president made a successful impact in Arizona, along with her running mate Tim Walz, Reuters reported.

Harris said she would work to lower consumer prices, vowing to “take on big corporations that engage in price gouging” and corporate landlords who unfairly raise rents on working families, as well as go after big pharmaceutical companies to lower drug prices.

In this regard, Republican candidate Donald Trump accused Harris of stealing his political proposal to end taxes.

“Kamala Harris, whose 'honeymoon' period is ENDING… just copied my NO TIP TAX policy,” Trump said on his Truth Social app.

“The difference is that she won't do it, she only wants it for political purposes!”

Additionally, a Harris campaign official said her proposal would require Congress to pass legislation.

“As president, I would work with Congress to craft a proposal that includes an income cap and strict requirements to prevent hedge fund managers and lawyers from structuring their compensation in ways that attempt to take political advantage,” the official said.
