The former president of the United States, Joe Biden, has been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, and is reviewing the treatment options, said a statement from his office on Sunday.
On Friday, the 82 -year -old Democrat was “diagnosed with prostate cancer … with metastasis to the bones,” said the statement.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, cancer seems to be sensitive to hormones, allowing effective handling.
The former president and his family are reviewing the treatment options with their doctors, “he continued.
The diagnosis occurred after Biden experienced an increase in urinary symptoms and was seen last week for a new finding of a prostate nodule, according to the statement.
The announcement occurs when Biden argues that he could have won the presidential elections of 2024, after leaving the race due to questions about his age and skills.
His vice president, Kamala Harris, finally lost to Republican Donald Trump.
Last week, a recently published Biden recording speaks hesitant and struggling to remember key events and dates fed a renewed debate about their mental abilities while he was still in office.
Biden's son, Beau Biden, died of brain cancer in 2015.
