Is Senegal heading towards political turmoil? | TV shows

Protests erupt in Senegal after the president indefinitely postponed elections.

Senegalese President Macky Sall made a surprise announcement on Saturday: to indefinitely postpone elections scheduled for this month.

He cited the controversy surrounding the disqualification of some presidential candidates.

The opposition has accused Sall of trying to cling to power and there have been protests in the capital, Dakar.

Senegal is seen by many as the continent's most stable democracy and a rare pillar of stability in West Africa, where its neighbors have faced coups and civil wars.

Sall says he will not run for a third term.

But without a new date for the presidential elections, what's next for Senegal?
