- The nations of E3 threaten the reimposition of international sanctions against Iran.
- The sanctions could be imposed through the “Snapback mechanism” for the end of August.
- The report follows the first call of the foreign ministers of E3 with Iranian FM.
Iran, Great Britain, France and Germany could have conversations next week about Tehran's nuclear program, the official semi of Iran Tasnim The news agency reported Sunday, after the warnings of the three European countries that the inability to resume negotiations would lead to international sanctions to be reprived in Iran.
“The principle of conversations has been agreed, but the consultations continue in the time and place of conversations. The country in which the conversations could be held next week has not been completed.” Tasnim He informed, citing an informed source on the matter.
The report on possible conversations occurs a few days after the Foreign Ministers of the so -called E3 Nations, as well as the head of foreign policy of the European Union, celebrated their first call with Iraní Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, from Israel and the United States attacked the Iranian nuclear facilities a month ago.
The three European countries, together with China and Russia, are the remaining parties of a 2015 nuclear agreement reached with Iran, of which the United States retired in 2018, which raised the sanctions to the country of the Middle East in exchange for restrictions to its nuclear program.
The E3 has said that the UN sanctions against Tehran would restore through the so-called “Snapback mechanism” at the end of August if the nuclear conversations that were ongoing between Iran and the United States before the Israel-Iran air war will not resume or do not produce specific results.
“If EU/E3 wants to have a role, they must act in responsibility and set aside the worn out and pressure policies, including the 'snap-back' for which they lack absolutely [any] Ground of moral and legal, “Araqchi said earlier this week.
The Snapback mechanism can be used to restore UN sanctions before the UN Security Council resolution consecrated that the agreement expires on October 18.
Before the Israel-Iran War, Tehran and Washington made five rounds of nuclear conversations mediated by Oman, but faced large blocks of stumbling blocks such as the enrichment of uranium in Iran, that the Western powers want to lead to zero to minimize any risk of weapons.
Tehran argues that its nuclear program is intended only for civil purposes.
