From tracks to tranquility: Historic UK train station revived as hotel after dramatic transformation
Canfranc station, a 100-year-old European train travel icon, has been transformed into a luxury hotel. uk express reported.
Trains full of gold that the Nazis stole from the Jews during World War II have been seen at the station; some estimates reach 86 tons.
The station, now moved to a luxury hotel, is located in the Aragón Valley, facing the Pyrenees.

It was closed in 1970 after the bridge was damaged and left to deteriorate for more than 50 years.
However, the Barceló hotel chain acquired the property and returned the station to its former splendor.
In collaboration with the regional government of Aragon, the company converted the station into a five-star hotel with 104 rooms, inaugurated last year.
It has a wellness area, including a swimming pool and three restaurants, and the station lobby is now the hotel reception.
The hotel also has a conference center with capacity for 200 people, a railway museum, shops and a refuge for pilgrims heading to Santiago de Compostela.
The hotel was designed by architects Joaquín Magrazó and Fernando Used, who tried to preserve its original character.
