French President Emmanuel Macron recently responded to rumors that his wife, Brigitte, was “born a man,” calling them “false and fabricated.” Sun reported.

Brigette was Macron's French literature teacher and mother of three when he began dating her at the age of 15.

The French politician, 47, said transgender claims about France's 70-year-old first lady, whom he married in 2007, typified online misogynistic attacks on women.

Macron, speaking on International Women's Day on Friday, said: “The worst thing is false information and made-up scenarios. People eventually believe them.”

According Sun, two women who claimed that Macron's wife was a man were punished with “symbolic fines.” However, these fines were reduced following an appeal filed in June last year.

Among the witnesses called to court was Brigitte's uncle, Jean-Louis Auzière, who told the court: “I worked with Brigitte until the late 80s, I can confirm to you that she is not a man.”

In 2022, transphobic rumors about Macron's wife were circulating during his reelection campaign and were revived when Brigitte's daughter, Tiphaine Auzière, spoke about them publicly for the first time.

Tiphaine, 40, said Paris Party magazine: “I am concerned about the level of society when I hear what is circulating on social media about my mother being a man.”
