US General Mark Kimmitt says Israeli speeches about annihilating Gaza “sound good on TV” but are impractical and illegal.
By imitating the United States’ World War II tactics in Germany and Japan, Israel has made a serious mistake with its war in Gaza, according to retired US Army Brigadier General Mark Kimmitt.
Kimmitt tells host Steve Clemons that Israel’s tactics (firebombing and “starting over”) have made it unwelcome among the region’s people.
Despite Israel’s assassination of a top Hamas commander in Lebanon and the disruption of shipping routes in the Red Sea, the United States is less concerned about regional instability than it was in October. The situation “has not touched the red lines of the United States,” he says.
