The EU Humanitarian Commissioner says he has seen first-hand how important UNRWA's work is in the Palestinian territories and is pleased to see the bloc restoring funding to the aid agency. Several countries withdrew funding for UNRWA following accusations by Israel that its employees were involved in the October 7 Hamas attack.
