Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, in a recent Fox News interview, he expressed support for Israel's operations in Gaza, answering “Yes” to a question about whether he was in “Israel's camp”, AFP reported.

The interviewer asked about Trump's approval of Israel's offensive in Gaza, to which he responded: “We have to end the problem.”

The comments mark Trump's most explicit comments yet on the ongoing conflict, as international pressure mounts on the United States to address the situation.

President Joe Biden has faced criticism from the local and international community for supporting Israel amid escalating casualties in Gaza. This adds to Biden's woes as he prepares to face Trump in the November election.

More than 30,534 people have been killed in Israel's offensive in the Gaza Strip, mainly women and children, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. The conflict began with a Hamas attack on southern Israel on October 7, resulting in around 1,160 deaths, mainly civilians, according to official Israeli figures.

Amid growing discontent over Biden's support for Israel, protests in the United States have encouraged voters to express their discontent in the upcoming presidential election.

Israel is also experiencing further rebuke from its key ally the United States, with Vice President Kamala Harris expressing “deep concern about the humanitarian conditions in Gaza” during talks with Israeli War Cabinet member Benny Gantz in Washington.
