As November approaches without an official announcement on the Republican vice presidential nomination, former US commander in chief Donald Trump dropped some hints Thursday about who his running mate could be in the 2024 election.

Trump, 78, said Fox News: “I have a pretty good idea.”

The presumptive Republican nominee added that his potential pick was “probably in the room with him” at some point during their meetings Thursday, hinting at their discussion on Capitol Hill.

“Look, we have some really talented people,” Donald Trump said, adding that “I have a pretty good idea.”

While revealing more, the 45th President of the United States said that Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin is on his short list. “Yes. I haven't been asked that question, but he would be on that list,” he said.

Youngkin, 57, met Donald Trump for the first time Wednesday at the businessman's country club in northern Virginia.

Trump also said he will likely continue with his plan to announce his vice president at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July, days after his sentencing in the hush money case.

“I think I'll probably do it as usual,” Trump said. “You announce it at the convention.”
