Minnesota's governor said Sunday that at least two police officers and another official died while initially responding to a domestic crime incident in Burnsville.

Walz also said, “We should never take for granted the bravery and sacrifices our police officers and first responders make every day. My heart goes out to their families today and the entire state of Minnesota stands with Burnsville.”
He also noted that flags would fly at half-staff across Minnesota on Monday and that the state Department of Public Safety is “coordinating with local authorities to conduct an investigation.”
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives officials responded to an incident after monitoring reports of first responders involved in a “domestic-related shooting,” according to the agency.

Burnsville is located about 15 miles south of Minneapolis.

In a statement, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar said she and her husband are praying for the officers.
“They were doing their job. They were protecting our community. “John and I are praying for them, their families and the Burnsville Police Department this morning,” Klobuchar said.
