A new train journey revolutionises travel between two picturesque European cities

The Espresso Salento night train has been running between Rome and Lecce for almost two weeks and has already become a popular choice for tourists looking to explore the iconic Italian cities.

According to the Daily ExpressTrain travel in Europe is gaining popularity among tourists due to its eco-friendly nature and the relaxed pace it offers.

Train travel has become an important part of the revival of night trains in Europe, clearly indicating their growing popularity.

From July 18th, travelers can discover the picturesque region of Puglia by traveling from Rome aboard the Espresso Salento.

This overnight train travels from Rome to the city of Lecce, located in the Salento region, in the heel of Italy's boot. Trains depart in the evening and arrive at their destination early the next morning. Daily Express reported citing local news.

However, this new night train does not run every day.

The next departures will be from Rome on August 13 and 22, and from Lecce on August 14 and 23.

The initial price for a Lecce-Rome and Rome-Lecce journey is €44.50.

It is expected to be relaunched during the coming Christmas, Easter and summer of 2025 with the aim of offering a larger train to improve its autonomy and accommodate passengers on board.
