Up to 12 people were reported injured in air turbulence as the airline flew over Turkey bound for Dublin from Doha, days after a similar event in Singapore that killed one person.
Dublin Airport said in a statement that the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner experienced turbulence over Turkey, prompting an emergency response shortly after landing in Ireland.
Qatar Airways flight QR017 landed before 1:00 p.m. local time, and authorities said six passengers and six crew members were injured.
“The Dublin Airport team continues to provide full ground assistance to passengers and airline staff,” the airport said, according to bbc.

According to the National Ambulance Service, he received a pre-alert to go to the airport and “is currently on site facilitating and supporting the disembarkation of passengers.”
Qatar Airways said BBC News NI in a statement that “a small number of passengers and crew suffered minor injuries during the flight and are now receiving medical attention.
“The matter is now subject to an internal investigation,” he added.
Turbulence could worsen with climate change
cnn reported that approximately 65,000 airliners experience moderate-level turbulence annually in the U.S. About 5,500 people witnessed severe turbulence, which is expected to increase.
In 2022, Paul Williams, a professor of atmospheric sciences at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom, told the outlet that he believes climate change is modifying turbulence.
“We did some computer simulations and found that severe turbulence could double or triple in the coming decades,” Williams added.
