YOTEL to open property in Kuala Lumpur – Business Traveler

YOTEL has announced plans to open its first property in Malaysia.

The 290-room YOTEL Kuala Lumpur will be located in a mixed-use development in the city’s central business district, close to the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Shopping and Convention Centre.

Scheduled to open in summer 2025, the hotel will feature a rooftop pool and bar, as well as a multifunctional dining and co-working space, a fitness center, and a Grab + Go snack station.

The YOTEL brand was launched in 2007 at London Gatwick Airport and there are currently around 22 properties worldwide, around half of them in the UK or US. The group aims to have more than 50 hotels by 2025.

This page on the YOTEL website lists YOTELPAD London Stratford and Yotel Geneva as both opening in 2023, followed by locations in Lisbon, Brussels, Atlanta, Long Island City and Tokyo in 2024.

YOTEL also recently announced plans to open its first property in Thailand, with a 250-room hotel located within Bangkok’s Cloud 11 mixed-use development.

Hubert Viriot, CEO of YOTEL, commented on the news:

“Following the success of YOTEL Orchard Road and YOTELAIR Changi Airport in Singapore, expanding our brands in Malaysia forms an essential part of growing our operating group, distribution strategy and brand awareness in Southeast Asia.

“We are privileged to have been selected by High Street Holdings to operate this new hotel in Kuala Lumpur, which will be a true flagship for our brand and hopefully the first of many hotels in Malaysia.

“Asia remains a key territory for our growth, and with the addition of Kuala Lumpur to the project, along with Tokyo and Bangkok, we are doubling our current presence in the region and are excited to further enhance the portfolio.”
