Virgin Atlantic has introduced a new benefit for entry-level members of the airline's Flying Club frequent flyer program.
Starting today (March 14), Red tier members will board ahead of other customers traveling in Economy Classic and Economy Light, on any service operated by Virgin Atlantic across the airline's global network.
Please note that other existing priority boarding rules remain in effect: customers traveling with small children and/or who require additional assistance to board first, then upper class passengers and Gold card members, then Premium customers and then Economy Delight passengers. Red tier Flying Club members will now be placed at the bottom of this list.
British Airways does not offer priority boarding for entry-level Blue members of its Executive Club, but Bronze members (earned after reaching 300 tier points) do benefit from priority boarding and use of business class check-in counters.
Commenting on the news, Anthony Woodman, Vice President of Flying Club and CRM at Virgin Atlantic, said:
“We are constantly improving our Flying Club program so that our members receive the best of Virgin Atlantic.
“Our Red Tier members already receive access to a world of earning and spending opportunities with their Virgin Points, and now our new boarding benefit provides an extra sweetener to the start of their travels with us.”
