Turkish Airlines has launched its first flights to Australia – Business Traveler

Turkish Airlines is already known for flying to an impressive number of countries and now Melbourne has become the latest addition to its list. The new addition takes its operational network to six continents, with a total of 346 destinations in 130 countries so far. These will be the airline's first flights to Australia.

The inaugural flight took place on March 5, 2024 and will continue to operate three times a week, with special introductory prices for travel from Istanbul via Singapore Changi International Airport, available from March 1 to March 15, 2024, and from Melbourne to Istanbul. until April 15, 2024.

Turkish Airlines announces partnership with Melbourne Victory

Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria, is Australia's most populous city, and the new flight offering makes Turkish Airlines the only European airline currently flying to Melbourne Airport. The airline hopes to contribute to trade and tourism value in both countries each year by carrying thousands of passengers via the new Istanbul-Melbourne route from now on.

Australian Employment and Industry Minister Natalie Hutchins said: “Victoria is home to Australia's largest Türkiye-born community, a great nod to our vibrant multicultural state. “We look forward to creating easier connections for this community and boosting tourism with the arrival of Turkish Airlines.”

Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus added that the airline's entry into the Australian market offers new options for local travelers and exporters.
