Dark/light mode (12/21/23) Online travel agency Trip.com has appointed Edmund Ong as managing director in Singapore.
Edmund will succeed Ms Ru Yi, who will take on the role of Regional Director of Accommodation (Asia Pacific).
Both appointments will take effect on January 1, 2024.

In addition to his new appointment, Edmund, who joined Trip.com in 2014, will continue in his role as Senior Director for Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

As an international headquarters, Singapore is a key market for the company, which has seen healthy growth across several metrics in recent years, with the number of registered users as of November 2023 up 530% compared to 2019.
Active customers, defined as users who have made a reservation during the time period, have improved by 71.1% compared to 2022.
There has also been an upward trend in year-on-year booking volumes, as well as gross merchandise value (GMV), with volume increasing by 140.4% and GMV growing by 170.6% as of November 2023.
